Okay okay: 10: 6x09 The Battle of the Bastards 9: 6x01 The Red Woman 8: 6x04 Book of the Stranger 7: 6x08 No One 6: 6x02 Home 5: 6x06 Blood of my Blood 4: 6x03 Oathbreaker 3: 6x05 The Door 2: 6x10 The Winds of Winter 1: 6x07 The Broken Man I'm struggling with #1 and #2, they're neck and neck for me. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I just have to say FUCK YOUR OPINION! But seriously Davey, ranking SNOWBOWL as the absolutely worst episode of the season? Because of just some nitpicks regarding the editing of the episode and the directing of a single scene? And it's somehow worse than The Red Woman, where nothing happened except for the ridiculous destruction of the Martell storyline in one of the worst twists of the entire show? I'm okay with you rating it 6, but ranking it as the worst episode of the entire season is too much. I read your rants about SNOWBOWL and many of those points are valid, like I said the other day, but it's mostly stuff about the editing and the directing, and 90% of it is focused on that single long shot of Jon in the battlefield. If a single scene in that episode ruined it completely for you, how can The Broken Man be at the top of your list with Arya's awful stabbing scene? SNOWBOWL seems to be the only episode you chose to nitpick over editing and directing so harshly, it almost looks like you were actively looking for mistakes to criticize, not like you were trying to enjoy it like you said. Don't worry, I don't mean to imply anything, my comment last week that you were jealous because SNOWBOWL happened and Cleganebowl didn't was just a joke . Still, the reason you were so hard on this episode compared to other episodes with much bigger mistakes that you easily overlook really confuses me, it seemed almost unfair to this particular episode. If you say that you preferred Doran's assassination over any SNOWBOWL scene I swear that I'm never gonna lend you my couch I liked the Red Woman. I mean the Dorne scene was truly awful, but overall I really enjoyed it, and back when it aired I called it the best season premier the show has done. The scenes with Davos at the Wall were very suspenseful and had a great sense of foreboding. Almost every episode had a moment of weakness or two, but Battle of the Bastards is the only episode that flat out disappointed me. My complaints about the battle may sound like nitpicks to you, but the style of the battle with its reliance on CGI and weird filters is the polar opposite of my personal taste in action sequences. D&D can talk about how they wanted a sense of chaos in the battle, but I think it was just bad editing from a rushed shoot. Instead of taking the time to orchestrate an amazing battle sequence with practical effects, they rushed production with some basic elements and decided to fix it in post. It was also the third time a battle sequence has ended with a last minute save from another army. I tend to prefer the dialogue-driven episodes that feature all of the characters, but Blackwater and The Watchers on the Wall were so fantastically produced, that I was totally won over and giddy with excitement. I really wish they had gotten Marshall back for this one, because I hate cheesy shit like CGI arrows flying through the air. The battle was the centerpiece of the episode, and the defining event of the season, but it goes beyond nitpicking, I simply didn't enjoy the battle. I had trouble following the action so I just grew disconnected and bored with it. While rewatching on Sunday the tracking shot was even more underwhelming, because I noticed the invisible edits, there are three to four moments where a horse passes by in the foreground, those are invisible edits. It's lazy filmmaking, which would be acceptable if GoT didn't set the bar so high with previous battles. Dorne sucked, but it didn't ruin 6x01 for me, however the battle was essential to one's enjoyment of this episode. Expectation probably played a big part in it. 2x09, 4x09, and the Hardhome sequence was so amazing, that I assumed this one would excite me just as much, but I thought it was the weakest battle of the series. And in the interest of fairness, I will reiterate that I absolutely loved the pre-battle banter and the Bolton phalanx maneuver. I just wish the rest of the battle was that exciting for me. I promise that I'm not trolling you, or anything, I really didn't enjoy it very much. But I'm glad you did. I'd be devastated if CLEGANEBOWL didn't blow me away, which is probably inevitable considering my extreme levels of hype.

I think we get too hung up on ratings and rankings. They are just a number. And the way you feel about an episode might change the next time you revisit it. I didn't hate any episodes from this season, I had some issues with certain scenes or moments, but I'm a huge fan of the show and I love watching it. If I put episode 9 at the bottom of my list, it doesn't mean I hated that one the most, but I loved it the least, if that makes sense. And it doesn't mean I think it's objectively more awful than the other episodes, but just that I enjoyed watching it less than the others.

You called Nezzer 's baby ugly, DaveyJoe . I loved this season. I think it's the best after Season 3. Season 1 is a better story, but Season 6 was better rendered for TV. I really enjoyed every single episode, but I'll rank them according to how I rated them in the rating thread. 10: 6x01 The Red Woman 9: 6x06 Blood of my Blood 8: 6x03 Oathbreaker 7: 6x04 Book of the Stranger 6: 6x02 Home 5: 6x10 The Winds of Winter 4: 6x07 The Broken Man 3: 6x08 No One 2: 6x05 The Door 1: 6x09 The Battle of the Bastards

I think the Tourney of the Hand would have looked great, and we would probably have got the Battles of the Green Fork and Whispering Wood too. Not that Season 1 was bad or anything, it's probably still my favourite overall, you can just see the difference in budget

If season 1 had season 6's budget, we definitely would have seen those things. I really wish we got to see Robb in battle, as well as Green Fork. Season 1 is still my favorite but 6 was a definite improvement over seasons 4 and 5.
