Another tragedy nobody is talking about...no more Tormund/Brienne.

If it means not having to see him dead keep him wherever he is.

So if the mark on Bran's arm broke the seal on the cave, maybe if he goes back through the Wall, that could cause the Wall to break? And it will all come down. Fuck.

So who's going to come to Bran and Meera's aid? Surely she ain't dragging him all the way back down south. Perhaps he wargs something they can ride? Coldhands?

This season really is turning out great. I don't think there's been a "bad" episode yet and there's been five whole episodes without a giant controversy or outrage

They made a point of reminding us that Benjen exists by throwing him into the Winterfell flashback when they didn't need him in the scene at all (they could have used Brandon if they wanted to). He is a massive dangling thread that they could have closed off by having him die at any point in the past 6 seasons. So yeah, he's showing up to save the day next episode for sure.

So quick death tally at the halfway point of this season:
Doran Areo Trystane Roose Walda Baby Bolton Balon Olly Alliser Othell Yarwyck Bowen Marsh Khal Moro Aggo Every other Dothraki Khal Shaggydog Osha Summer Hodor Leaf Every other COTF Three Eyed Raven
And this is a show that backloads the majority of its deaths to the 2nd half of the season. So I think what I'm trying to say here is, buckle up.

I'm still depressed. I don't understand Sansa lying to Jon. I'm glad Brienne called her out on it because I think it's a stupid move, but she's still learning how to be a bamf, I guess. She won't be perfect. I liked the touch of her giving Jon matching armour like Ned wore. Still doesn't make up for the lie, but it was sweet. The Kingsmoot sucked. I'm glad it was shorter, because those chapters in AFfC felt like an eternity. And wtf are a bunch of the Iron Born okay with kinslaying? You're telling me that powerful and intelligent men like Tywin Lannister and Roose Bolton avoided this because it's so taboo, but the fucking Iron Born are just like "nahh! No biggie."

Other than feeling utterly depressed between the Dany/Jorah scene and Hodor death, is it me or does the guy playing Euron suck? Very dissapointed with his portion of the Kingsmoot. I thought Euron was the only disappointing part of this episode. I was under the impression that he was supposed to be some sort of mega villain but he just came off like a not-too-bright twat. He seemed like a carbon copy of Theon before Ramsay turned him into Reek. Oh, well.

It's also my absolute favourite thing when Dave and Dan explicitly reveal that a big plot point came directly from a conversation with George. Only because it pisses off certain unnamed crazy people so insanely.
"When George told us..." is the thing I'm crossing my fingers to hear on every Inside the Episode clip.

I feel like George has given them all the major plot beats, there's no way he doesn't know how his story lays out for his major characters. The fact that D&D even know Martin's plans for fucking Hodor means they have a large chunk of the last 2 books already. The things they don't know are the twists and turns on how some of the characters get there and they will be allowed to choose their own paths on getting the show characters where they need to be. And as they always have done, they of course will choose to deviate when they need to in order to tell the TV story in the most efficient manner.

Amazing episode. I liked the Kingsmoot, the Sansa scenes (she lying to Jon makes her actually more of a player IMO, it may have been a stupid decision but she is clearly following some kind of plan on her mind. Plus, I wouldn't want Littlefinger to fall that easily; he is the great mastermind afterall), and Kinvara (damn, she is much more badass than Melisandre ever was. I hope we get more of her). "Hold the door" was brilliantly done. Possibly the best episode in the entire series. A few rivals I can remember are 1x09, 1x10, 3x04 and 3x09. Not sure if there were many others that had the impact this one had on me.
On the other hand, though... The Three Eyed Raven felt very misused for me. He has only been around for three episodes in human form, and we found out nothing about him: how he got there, why is he helping Bran and how he got his abilities. I hope that part is addressed later on the series (maybe Bran becomes him or I don't know, the Night's King reveals his origin... Just something).
I also hope the war between Children of the Forest and humans is more explored on the show. We know very little of that, and it has a MAJOR impact on the series as a whole now that we know the origin of the White Walkers.
