I nearly missed this ... this is SO good! You have real talent with these gif sets Admin! Is there a way to display the whole set at once or you have to link all of them individually here? They really need showcased in this thread - the filming and Maisie's acting were unbelievably spot on for those moments. I'm just floored really by how similar they are.

One thing I wanted to bring up (and it probably has already been stated) was that Dany's and Jon's rebirth and resurrection were clearly done to mirror each other. Dany's is triumphant, flashy, and seen by everyone, while Jon's is understated, seen by no one, and it feels as if Mel had to drag him back from the dead. Dany feels rejuvenated, while Jon is still a little bit lost and shaken. Dany probably feels a renewed sense of purpose, while Jon wanted to abandon it all. Fire and ice.

It's a great parallel and we've had a lot of discussions on it in other threads too. I'm so glad the show is picking up on this subtle opposite comparison between Daenerys and Jon too - I'm a big fan of it (see my avatar!) - and @moiaf is our resident expert on all of the Dany/Jon parallels in much deeper book discussions. It's definitely noticeable how morose and somber Jon is now since his return. He's always been a bit "emo" as many like to call him but he had idealism and high honor as his foundation before and now that foundation has been shaken to the core with his death and return. He's uncertain about life right now and how he fits into it. You're totally right now Daenerys is turning the opposite page. She started out life pretty downtrodden whereas Jon was born into a life of nobility and privilege - hers was as a commodity and object sold to the highest bidder (Drogo). She's become a Queen but it's been a long journey to that point and her second re-birth by fire is really where I think her greatest focus will start to play in. Jon on the other hand was given a place of power (Lord Commander) very young, but has since lost it all and is now feeling lost and powerless. He'll need all of his friends and family help to regain himself I think. I am hoping discovering his true heritage will help him discover new purpose.

Euron also has a rebirth of sorts, even though it's basically our proper introduction to him. Ties him to Daenerys pretty effectively I think, and is basically a promise for future interaction between them that is set up by Euron himself within the episode.

I also read on TV Trope that not only Theon physically resemble Euron, but his scenes also parallel Euron's: -both underwent the Drowned God baptism -both scene by which played by the Ironborn theme
-both are arrogant and cocky (with Euron seen so far with how he act at the Kingsmoot) -both were seen paying the Iron Price (Theon when he killed Myranda to save Sansa and hence "Pay the Iron Price" played, Euron killing Balon to become king)

I haven't found any good gif on the matter, but there's the parallel with Joffrey dismissing Barristan and Tommen dismissing Jaime.

I'll post a pic later, but there's near identical shots in 507 and 604 of Cersei and Tommen in front of the window.
