Are we allowed to demand @alcasinoroyale make the next countdown yet? What event are we hyping? Isn't next episode the one with Drogon burning some khals and the Dothraki temple? I think that's pretty hypeable.

What event are we hyping? Stark reunion? Greyjoy reunion? Tyrell reunion? Littlefinger's return? All of the above.

Just don't spoil the countdown with anything that's not in the trailer.

Just don't spoil the countdown with anything that's not in the trailer. Make it a countdown for the return of Royce the Voice then. He's a god. Amongst. Mere. Mortals.

Well I did my mandatory re-watch on this one because I missed too many things, not because it was that epic... though some scenes definitely were epic - there were more subtle clues in this episode. Many of them.
1. The Waif smacked Arya for saying "4 Brothers" ... meaning she senses a lie that even Arya herself doesn't know? I actually really love this, that's a brain bender there. If Arya believes Jon is her brother, wouldn't that be a truth?
2. Varys paid to have the green woman and her son sent to Pentos for the names of the true leaders of the sons of the Harpy, I finally get it now. How can he trust her though?
3. Bran communicating even minutely with his Father is a really big deal. I want to say he did this too in the books, just in a much different scene. The Godswood with his Father? This definitely means he's going to defy Bloodraven on something or another soon.
4. Arya has The Waif on her list and the waif knows it now. I thought she paused and looked at Arya weirdly when Arya named Walder Frey but instead, she knows the lie, her own name being left off. And she lets that lie go.
5. Both Qyburn and Cersei name Ser Gregor by his true name, not "Robert Strong" as I thought Qyburn had already done previously. I guess not?
6. Qyburn seems to have won over the little birds easily enough with sweets, but you all speculate some of them are still true to Varys, right?
7. Jon's 'difference' is subtle at first. He seems the same emotionally conflicted person up until the very end. Davos told him "Fuck it then, Go make some more mistakes" and that's when his change comes out. He hands over the cloak to Edd and walks out. That's a new Jon Snow and I like how they handled it... it sends the message loud and clear. "My Watch is Over." The new Jon Snow will not give any fucks.

She does accept half brother though. I think she just let it go like the other ones. She isn't quite sure where the 'lie' or 'truth' is in there, it's too vague since Arya herself doesn't know the truth.

So we know Jon has shorter hair and a manbun. He's still got a nice rear. Personality-wise, I think he was too freaked out by what had happened for there to be any noticeable changes. Which, to be fair, is I think a logical thing. I'm sure if that happened to me I'd be fairly freaked out by it. I think he was a little bit more aloof and mistrusting (for obvious reasons) and possibly a bit colder. Only subtle though. Lets see how it progresses. Oh and Mel finally mentioned The Prince That Was Promised. As far as I'm aware, that is the first time that specific phrase has been used in the show. I can't remember whether Maester Aemon said it in the show or not, but I don't think he did. It's late and I'm getting the book and show confused.

Now that the show confirmed Jon will leave the NW on a technicality (which I've suspected will happen in the books since I first read ADwD), I have to say, I don't like it. Feels a bit cheap to me honestly. Yes he died, but the vows also say and for all nights to come. Idk how leaving the NW with Dolorous Edd in charge with an impending WW attack seems like a good idea. I'm sure Jon will go off and unite the north, and thus having a much better resistance to fight them, but it feels like it's more about Jon being free to sit the IT at the end tof me. If that does happen I would have rather the NW completely disbanded out of not being necessary anymore.

I think if your leadership group turns on you and stabs you to death, you're allowed to say "fuck this shit, I'm done with this organization" with no further consequences. Pretty much everyone involved would put a tally into the "perfectly understandable action" column.

After seeing the Qyburn scene, I'm more inclined to believe that the trailer shot of the little birds stabbing someone is them turning on him at the end of the season on Varys' secret orders.
Qyburn is a far bigger deal than Pycelle or Kevan on the show and it actually would make sense for Varys to want to take him out (much moreseo than a couple of useless chumps the audience couldn't care less about).
There's only one Master of Whispers who has a weird harem of dirty little children spying for him bitch.
