Do you think we'll get an answer to this this episode or will the battle be resolved without Mel's assistance? I demand to see Mel in action before the series is over!!

Given her current state of mind, I doubt Mel will be using any of her magic until she manages to resurrect Jon.

This is a very good question.
I sort of suspect they are leading us on a little bit with that semi cliff-hanger ending for Melisandre. I've seen some remarks from fans out in the general audience world who thought maybe she was dying or going to die when she got into bed (I don't think any of us believed that for one minute). But if that's what average viewers thought, then maybe that was the intended goal to mislead people into thinking her powers have gone out completely?
If they have her 'weak' for the first two episodes, it will really help build the tension that there's really no one there to resurrect Jon and the rumors must be wrong.
So I am not thinking she participates in whatever showdown is about to happen between Davos, the Wildlings and the Night's Watch.

Spoiler tags because I'm not sure if we can mention leaks. You've been warned. Isn't this the one where the Wildlings break down the gates to Castle black. My spoiler free opinion is that Mel's powers don't seem to be able to affect people, at least not immediately. Maybe her bringing back Jon is enough to terrify most of the watch into surrender?

She won't do shit. The point of what they are doing is for her to lose hope and in the moment of final weakness bring Jon back. It won't work if she manages to do anything prior to this. how she survives bringing Jon back, no clue

Thank the gods it's 50 armed men and not 20 good men. It's 40 armed men, but I don't know, maybe Lord Fourty of House Armedmen is Ser Twenty's cousin and just as strong as him.

She'll pull a Rey in that final fight with Kylo Ren and get a force push to do it.

Maybe not against the NW mutineers, but I want to see Mel use some more shadow assassins. Maybe she'll have her own little fight against some White Walkers somewhere.
