Just read about the Lannister/Freys vs. somebody battle in episode 9. Exciting if true. And it fits with the post-siege scene with 1000 extras hinted at by Sue. I thought Jaime was supposed to leave Riverrun after episode 7, though.... maybe he stays until 9? I think it was only ever confirmed that he wouldn't be there by the very end of the season, not necessarily that he'd leave after 607. Didn't you speculate though that the thousand extras were probably for something different shot around that studio there (Banbridge IIRC)?

I did, because that's when Hodor and white walkers were seen shooting around the same area and I thought such a number made far more sense for a white walker army. But IF this rumor is true, then the number makes sense for a battle. I didn't think we'd see any more large scale action beyond the siege to be honest.

@konradsmith, I really hope your wishful thinking is right if we have the three battles in one episode.

Was one of the casting calls with a fake name on it called Morgan btw? I can't seem to recall this sort of shit quite as well this year.

Who do you think will fight the lannisters/freys though? i speculated it might be the common folk and outlaws as its too soon for the northern army/white walkers/ daenerys.

If it's not just some further conflict with BF and his garrison in RR, I guess it would have to be some of those outlaws. But myself I don't think it's really a battle scene or the guy's friend would've had more details. I think he was just talking about the siege we already know about and some info got lost in translation broken telephone style.

But really that's because that's what morgantayler's called over there.

I'd assumed that one or two of the other battles would be just an overhead cavalry charge shot or something like the taking of Meereen in s4. But yeah, if there could be some other moderate scale battle, particularly in the same episode as the Snowbowl which we know will be HUGE than that'd be lovely. Though really if the other two are puny sized and the Snowbowl is still as promised, I wouldn't mind too greatly either.

I think the Meereen climax will be mostly a visual effects stravaganza (especially if the city burns), so it really doesn't have to last longer than 5-10 minutes. The Riverlands could surprise us with a battle but I agree it will probably be fairly short, and also the fun thing about the Riverlands plot this year is seeing all these characters interact, I think too much action could be detrimental to that (and Snowbowl will already fill that quota!)

I wonder also, if "Healtor" does mean Frey that is, if one of the Hapless Son's appearances might then be earlier and through Brienne's eyes. Which could then make 609 his last appearance rather than 610 and indicate that something big does indeed go down in the penultimate episode there.

If Healtor is a Frey, then I could see Walder and The Twins being reintroduced in episode 5/6 (unless he's besieging Riverrun, but we never got word of Bradley on set). What's interesting also is that we may have 6 or 7 named Frey characters this season.... Walder, Hapless Son, Walda, Black Walder (all but virtually confirmed), Lame Lothar (if Black Walder is back, he will be too), this Healtor dude, and Roslin is also a possibility. Except for Walda, who will die up north, all these Freys could conveniently be grouped together to be the recipients of a mass murder of some sort. I thought this would be season 7 material, but if the storyline begins relatively early and something big happens in episode 9 (plus the controversial event from episode 10), then it could all go down here and now.
