Does anyone have a good recipe for Chia Seeds. They are suppose to be good for you but I haven't found a recipe I like. I realised I wanted to reply to this, but I didn't. I like this recipe very much: minimalistbaker.com/overnight-chocolate-chia-seed-pudding/ The result is delicious, but I like the non-blended version more, it turns too gelatious for my taste after blending. (This blog is amazing, even if I'm not vegan, every recipe is so simple and turned out great and they always share tons of options for the ingredients and there are a bunch of other chia recipes.) But most of the time I just add about a tablespoon to my usual breakfast (oats with milk or joghurt and different seeds) The big plus of chia is that it is very satiable.

Yeh I was going to respond. They are commonly used in vegan recipes and especially chocolate mousse. But I haven't used them much! So I couldn't point you to a good recipe.

Chocolate and orange cake I made yesterday, I'm using google translate because the recipe is in Spanish so there may be mistakes:
Ingredients:
- 1 orange - 250g of sugar - 300 ml of water
- 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry (I bought it in a store because I didn't have time to make it and I was feeling lazy while buying the ingredients) - some orange marmalade
- 250 g of chocolate for desserts - 250 ml of whipping cream - 2 eggs - some milk (optional, I didn't use it)
Decorations:
Ok, the first thing is to heat the water with the sugar until it dissolves, then you cut the orange in thin slices and put them in the water with a really slow fire and let them boil for an hour. Once they are done put them in a rack until they dry.
Pastry
Pre-heat the oven at 180 ºC. Put the pastry in a mould (mine was small, 22 cm) and make sure is fixed to the walls. Pierce the bottom using a fork and put some legumes on top. Cook in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 180 ºC. Is better if you use butter or greaseproof paper to make sure the pastry doesn't get "glued" to the mould.
Take the pastry out of the oven and once is cold, spread the marmalade over it.
Filling
Melt the chocolate with the whipping cream (and the milk if you use it) using a veeeeeeeery slow heat and stir until the chocolate is completely melted. DON'T LET IT BOIL. Once is done put it away from the fire and let it cool down for a bit.
Separate the egg whites from the yolk and add the yolks to the chocolate, then heat it (again, veeeeeeeeeeeeeery slow fire) and stir all the time until the chocolate thickens like a cream. Let it cool down for a bit one more time.
Whisk the egg whites until you have stiff peaks, add them to the chocolate and put the mix in the pastry. Decorate using the orange slices and it's done!
But you do have to let it rest and get cold for six hours before eating it.
Is not a super hard recipe and it doesn't take much time if you make the mix while the orange slices cook and the pastry is in the oven. I usually adjust recipes depending on the feedback I get, but this is the first time I followed this recipe so is straight from the book.
Hope you guys like this, let me know if you make it!!!

Enid , that looks absolutely delicious. Does anyone have a cookie recipe that they love? I'm looking to try a new cookie recipe for the holidays, the same old, same old gets boring. Sometimes I make cinnamon and lemon cookies. They're quite good Ingredients: - 500 g sugar - 250 g butter - 125 g lard - 2 eggs - 1/2 glass of milk - zest from 1 lemon - 1 big spoonful of cinnamon - 15 g leavening - 700 g flour Pre-heat the oven at 180 ºC Work on the butter and the lard until they are soft (don't melt it or anything like that, just until they're like playdough, sorry is not clear is the best way I can think of to explain it. Mix the sugar, eggs, zest, cinnamon and leavening in a bowl. Add the butter and the lard to the mix and work on it until they're completely mixed. Add the milk and then add the flour in little steps (I always sieve it first) and work the dough until it doesn't stick to your fingers. Give form to the cookies. Put them in the oven and cook at 180º C for 10-15 minutes. And that's it, you have some delicious cookies. My advice is that you only use half the ingredients the first time to see if you like the cookies, otherwise you'll have a mountain of cookies you don't like. There are other recipes for this cookies out there too if you don't like this one, and I also make some chocolate chips cookies, but is the traditional recipe and they're just like chips ahoy!

Just made these: www.bakeplaysmile.com/yoyos/They turned out devine! 180g butter 1 tsp vanilla essence ⅓ cup icing sugar 1 cup self raising flour ½ cup plain flour ½ cup custard powder For the filling: 250g icing sugar 40g butter, at room temperature 2 tsp vanilla essence ½ tsp lemon juice 1 drop pink food colouring (optional) Combine the butter (which needs to be softened at room temperature so get it out early), icing sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl first and beat with an electric mixer until the butter forms a creamy fluffy texture. Add in the sifted flour/custard powder and beat until all combined. Line trays with baking paper and oven should be pre-heated to 180 degrees celsius. Spoon small circles onto the tray and press down with a fork to make a shape. Cook for about 15 minutes. To make icing, sift icing sugar. In another bowl, have the lemon juice, vanilla essence, colour and butter. Beat with electric mixer first and then add icing sugar. After the biscuits have cooled, pair them up, add the filling to half of them and sandwhich together. Violà! Enjoy the soft delicious buttery melting yoyos in your mouth. Makes approx 12 biscuits. Make yoyo's they are so good kingeomer ! (They aren't cookies though) I have a cookie recipe somewhere as well I will post it if I can find it Also ideas -> www.buzzfeed.com/ikneadtoeat/15-insanely-delicious-stuffed-cookies-to-try-befor-1y3sf?bffbfood&utm_term=.wxRrmw75k#.cu4K8YodD
