Mike Milligan pulled a Dr. King Schultz on the Undertaker! So badass.
Love the use of music from their other movies, this one had songs from Big Lebowski and O Brother.
This season has been incredible. Can't wait to see how it all plays out. So glad it's been renewed.

Love the use of music from their other movies, this one had songs from Big Lebowski and O Brother. I finally got around to watching it (my fucking essay delayed me until now) and I was going to remark on just this. Also the whole sequence in the woods with Danny Boy playing was a huge nod to Miller's Crossing. I love how they nod to the whole Coen Brothers canon instead of just the movie the show's based on.
EDIT: Also the whole UFO thing is a reference to the Man Who Wasn't There, so the Coens references run deep. As they should.
EDIT 2: And even the reference to a woman with the surname Kanutzen is a reference to the Big Lebowski. That was Bunny Lebowski's real last name as told by the Father Seamus ("what like an Irish monk") and her family was apparently back in Moorhead, Minnesota (you get it, she got into porn, more head...), so I'm pretty sure this is meant to be the same family. I love these Coens layers so much.

Another gem. Kirsten Dunst was amazing. I've never been her biggest fan, but she's won me over.

Oh my God, I never thought I'd actually side with Dodd, the show's biggest douche on ANYTHING, but Peggy and Ed need to go, or spend the rest of their lives in prison. They are honestly too stupid to function in this world. lol
I finally caught up with the last two episodes, I liked last week's better than this weeks, I'm not crazy about the "bottle episode" format because it's done to death on The Walking Dead, but I guess I can see why they did it this way.
Poor Simone though, that scene with her and Bear was heart breaking.

Caught up. Good stuff. A little thick with its references to the source material movie and to No Country but it was very taut and lovely so I forgive that kind of heavy-handedness here.

That was nuts! I laughed so hard at Peggy being unimpressed with the UFO.

Holy shit is this show good at penultimate episodes. And good to have Martin Freeman back doing the voiceover there. The way the tension built up and paid off was amazing. Great TV. Again I love how they layer the Coens references. The No Country gas station stuff from last episode paid off very well by blending two other scenes from that movie in the beginning. And then we ended with Run Through the Jungle (a cover though) which played in the Big Lebowski when the Dude and Walter throw the ringer off the bridge. And of course, as before, the UFO motif is out of the Man Who Wasn't There.

That was a great episode (but damn, why to the Blumquists keep living! lol) My co-workers that watch this show hate the alien stuff, they're going to be so pissed.

Loved the Raising Arizona sequence with Betsy at the beginning. And was happy with the finale overall. Patrick Wilson should get some Emmy love for the scene in the car with Peggy. I didn't pick up that Hanzee becomes the mob boss from S1 on my own, or that the boys were Wrench and Numbers, but I like it. I'm used to suspension of disbelief in a show with flying saucers. Anyway, great season. Maybe even better than the first.
