I have to eat a hearty crow sandwich here. I should've figured that Peniscola ( ) had a pretty good spot to put a CGI Red Keep in easily. And that the CGI models of Braavos, KL and Meereen are good enough to not need new shots, I guess. Sorry folks. It's just that there an article in May with an interview with some Croatian official of import saying he knew they'd be back. I guess maybe he didn't know for sure then? Dunno. Still. for being wrong there. Well, I think we all naturally assumed Dubrovnik would be King's Landing again.... until it wasn't, and now it all makes sense It's true Peñíscola seemed suspiciously similar from a start though. Also, they're shooting nine days there, so I think this indicates the KL storyline won't be significantly lessened. Nine days is plenty of time for exterior scenes only. Maybe we even get a close look at a trial or two

Even with the desertion of many characters from King's Landing, you still have Cersei there who is one of the more important POV's in the show so there would need to be a baseline of scenes that emanate from there at the very least.
Still, this should be the least amount of attention King's Landing has in terms of screentime of any season to this point.

Must be why I enjoyed s5 so much. Yeah the North was easily the strongest storyline of s5. As for Season 6, it could very well be again depending on Snowbowl.

For as much criticism as s5 caught, it was one of the strongest for the northern storylines by far and THE best episode of the series (IMO) happened. No one's likely ever going to forget Hardhome and even moreso because it was a complete 100% shocker for all of us ... book fans and unsullied alike!~

This has the potential (even though it's not a given) to be the season with the least amount of Tyrion screentime. Much of his scenes will be thumb-twiddling until Dany gets back so it really depends on how much of that they want to show and how long it takes for Dany and Tyrion to reunite (my guess is not until close to the end of the season).

I think they'll have a fair share of him and Varys politicking in Meereen in the meantime and the arrival of the Red Priestess Kinvara. So that'll occupy them early on.
I wonder btw if Varys actually will go back to KL at some point or if that's all just cut.

I always thought the ninja work he did there at the end was pretty significant in establishing his allegiance but maybe they've decided a more direct approach by having him stay in Meereen is better. They don't usually pass up an opp. to kill a character though, so I'd be surprised if they keep Kevan and Pycelle alive the whole season.

I'm sure that gives them a scene or two but that's not enough to sustain the normal amount of screentime Tyrion's plot typically encompasses. You've got him and Varys (along with Missandei and Grey Worm) and no one else to bounce off of. Yeah, the priestess will be there but it's not like that's a major character. Think about S5 even (which is the least Tyrion we've seen out of the first 5 seasons). -he has his big revelation scene with Varys at Illyrio's regarding what he's going to do next - a couple travelling scenes with Varys on the road - the Volantis sequence on the bridge, watching the priestess and then in the brothel which included the long dialogue with the brothel worker before being kidnapped by Jorah - a couple scenes on the boat with Jorah, then going through Valyria, seeing Drogon and then the attack by the Stone Men - the capture by Malko, then the auction scene with Malko where he and Jorah are handed off to Yezzan - the pit fighter scene where he finally meets Dany And that's just the first 7 episodes. There is no way they can create enough plot of him and Varys in Meereen this season to compensate for that.

I've said this here before, but I wonder if Varys might sneak away once he sees Jorah and Dany return (presuming they do together) because he only showed his face in Meereen after all, once Jorah had left. I don't think he'd want to risk getting killed. I guess that could prompt him to return to KL but going all the way back does seem like a bit much. It could be the show just kills Kevan and Pycelle some other way.

Varys' stated plan was to take Tyrion to see Dany so I don't think he'd be taking off just as she's back in the picture again. I think if the plan was for him to go back to KL for the murders, they wouldn't have bothered to bring him all the way to Meereen. I read that scene clearly as "we're back playing the game together just like old times". I don't think Varys is leaving Tyrion's side now.

I don't know why but I can't see Dany staying alone in Dothraki land more than three or four episodes (even with Jorah and Daario there) Btw, I am a bit worried about Jorah here to be honest, I can't see both him and Daario returning to Meereen...

Jorah getting greyscale is probably a good thing for his short term survival prospects. As Jon Connington doesn't exist, the show clearly is choosing Jorah as its "Greyscale comin' to Westeros" delivery system which means he should make it through at least this season. If anything, Daario is probably the one that's more in danger. He's much more expendable.

Yeah I really don't think both of them are going to come back alive. I hope Jorah makes it - but he's got grayscale too, so his odds are not very favorable. That said, I think it's Daario who might step off the planet in this one.

I am asking because I found it weird that if that's were they are going, they didn't establish the desease as one that can spread more quickly. In the inside episodes and such they always talk about how is a death sentence but a really slow one... George even said in one of those videos that although is really weird, there are people in Westeros with it.
