Although that's likely about to change. My problem is I love everyone. So it hurts when everyone dies. You might as well just learn to embrace the villains. Don't you see how happy folks like Roose is Azor Ahai and Nezzer are? Yes, I see, and they're adorable, and we'll be here for them when their favorites get flayed and/or hung and/or burnt to death. Seriously, I want to be a bad girl, but I'm such a goodie two shoes. I try to go evil in RPGs, but end up chaotic good every time. Edit: but I do admit to thinking this was hot:

I haven't clicked it yet. Three guesses what's behind door #1:
1) Rick Astly 2) Lindlio 3) The bad pussy

I still have yet to hear any one of you guys who keep saying this give one seriously logical story reason why this makes any sense whatsoever to drag out his death for several episodes, half the season, or even as some have said, the end of the season... "Because it will string the audience along and make for more drama" is not a good answer. Give me a logical plot driven reason why he should be kept on ice or the story skipped and still make sense or have a greater impact if you want to convince me of this theory. The Night's Watch doesn't burn him right away, why? We watch him run around the forest as Ghost? ... Give me something here you think will be a well written story reason for Jon Snow to remain 'dead' for how long in Season 6? It's to do with the stakes of his death. If he comes back immediately it would just have been a cheap "gotcha!" moment and I don't think that's GrrM's M.O. Now I don't think he'll come back TOO late, by the early midseason at the latest I'd say but, even though it's sunk in that he's dead to the audience by now, I think we have to see it sink in with the characters around him before he returns. In the meantime they can give us hope that he might return perhaps (by Mel, Davos or Edd preserving the body for instance) but I think if he came back in 601/very early in TWOW that would really cheapen the point of ending that arc with that moment in ADWD/s5.
Plus I think his soul's experience whilst dead is important. Whether it's just in Ghost or he shares some sort of Weirwood dream with Bran or whatever, this all has to change him a great deal. IMO it will darken him and take away his idealism and moral absolutism. And for this to have the weight it needs he'd have to remain dead at least for two or three eps.
Also we should keep in mind that the early episodes will have a lot of narrative weight to carry in the non-Wall storylines. So they might not have the time to get all of the storyline leading to his coming back out of the way before ep. 603 or ep. 604. Which is around when I think it'll go down.
Ahhh - ok, now you're talkin! (I just love forcing people into a debate to convince me and you're a master debater konrad haha) I had a nice Sunday lunch day out and now I'm all sassed out (as @daveyjoe put it lol) and relaxed. This makes a lot more sense if you want to compare it to a Modus operandi for George and the show writers are just mimicking his style. They've changed a lot of that and again, this could be a major reason they left out Stoneheart because it's making his MO repetitive and obvious. She didn't come back right away and we all assumed she was dead and gone for good. If they brought her back somewhere in season 4 as expected, the audience would have that massive event as a reminder that this is very possible. Unsullied are already well aware of the concept. In watching the hilarious reaction videos, I was impressed at how quickly even some of the most seemingly unaware unsullied referred back immediately to Dany's blood and fire ritual or Thoros resurrecting Beric. That was the first thing a lot of them said ... "wait, they can bring him back with magic, right?!" So yeah - the nugget of knowledge is already there. If they'd brought back Catelyn then the full impact of Jon Snow's death would be lessened quite a bit for the show ... because it's such a condensed format. I think it works fine for the books and because there's tons more detail in between but the show has only a few real biggie cliffhangers and shockers to buy with their bucks and this is def. one of them. I am in no way agreeing with LSH being cut (please don't hate me LSH fans) but at least trying to reason it out some way. It also makes sense they may want some of his assassination fallout drama to play out for the story. This is a good story/plot reason I suppose. Although I don't give a fuck what the back-stabbing (or front stabbing) NW think and I hope Ghost rips Olly and Aliser's throats out, I would be curious to see Tormund, the wildlings, Davos and Melisandre's reactions to it as a build-up. Maybe the Wildlings will take the duty of burying/burning Jon if the Night's Watch won't even give him his last rites. So in conclusion, you have convinced me with some valid reasons delaying his resurrection from the opener of the season makes sense. I still think a cold open with those dead eyes fading to baby Jon's "little brown stranger eyes" would tear people's hearts out. TOWER OF SORROOOOOOW!

It comes across as corny as Tyene and the bad pussy I guess. My problem is how utterly gorgeous and adorable the younger male heroes in the story are ... and c'mon, Richard Madden is so pretty they went and made him Prince Charming for Cinderella ffs! Sappy alarms are blaring here. I just can't help it! So Kit Harington has this weird nerdy adorable thing going on. I mean, have you SEEN some of his facial expressions people posted over in the meme section?! Oh right, you posted some of them yourself LOL! "He's like a puppy man. How can you stab a fucking puppy to death you heartless a-holes?!" (I am quoting some youtube reaction remarks here...) LOOKIT THIS BOY'S FACE (surprise ending)! "Oh but you CAN... They're not gonna SACK you!" .... ROFL.

The show is eye candy for everyone in addition to being great drama and storytelling. Kit is even sweeter than Jon Snow, and Jon is pretty sweet. Haha! When I said I'm good, I didn't mean like that. (pervert over here) I just can't do evil in a philosophical sense or get behind characters who do. In real life, I brake for everyone. I get kittens out of the road and jump strangers' cars. This is probably how I'll die.

But back on topic (sorry, sorry!) who would like or is expecting a pretty faithful adaptation of the TOJ scene? Three Kingsguard versus Ned, Howland Reed, etc. Even the lines in that flashback were really well written in the book. I'd like to see a pretty close adaptation of that dialogue. The fight happened off page, I think, so I would obviously like them to go off-book and show the fight, and from the casting news, it seems they definitely will.

It sounds like it'll all be very Kurosawa. Which makes me sad that Alik Sakharov's not back because he's particularly big on Kurosawa.

I'm still not over Grey Wind's head on Robb's body or Catelyn getting tossed in the river or Sansa getting raped. Stop disrespecting Stark bodies! Okay, done now. Ned without head...Bran with legs that don't work Ugh. I suspect that if we see immediate follow up to Jon's death, it might be his murderers going back to get his body only to see the pool of blood and no body. Later on in the season we find out what happened. The remaining story on the wall continues and resurrected JonWhateverSnow will appear at a later date.
