Guys, he's just an elder swinging bachelor. Everyone knows that.

Talking about the Blackfish, how many of us are convinced by the theory that he's gay? I know I am. Cat pretty much flat-out said he was, didn't she? I don't think there is any conclusive evidence for Blackfish being gay (all we know from the books is that he is a bachelor because ... reasons), but I like to think that he is.

When Cat said it was because of his nature, I assumed she meant because he doesn't like being beholden to another person, settling down, all that. It didn't occur to me that he might be gay, but I kind of like the idea. I don't suppose we know about any bastards of his...

Yeah, there's no evidence that he would be gay. I always just thought that he was an A-sexual.

It speaks a lot about this series when the theory about Euron molesting Damphair has almost more evidence than R+L=J.

But I don't really think we'll ever know about Blackfish's sexuality unless it's relevant to the plot.

Yeah, there's no evidence that he would be gay. I always just thought that he was an A-sexual. But asexuality is quite uncommon, innit? I mean, I've never met an asexual. I know plenty of people (like myself) who might as well be asexual, but never a legit in-the-flesh one. Meanwhile there're plenty of old, bow-shooting, river-swimming, scaly-leather wearing, Karstark-punching, gay dudes around. So I'm going with that theory.

Honestly I didn't even know what asexual was before it was told in school when I was 13.

Yeah, I think it's more likely that he's gay in a society that frowns upon it.

There's a whole gamut of sexual orientations other than the bog-standard gay/straight/bi including asexuality.

Thanks to online dating I've had to look up some words relating to sexuality that were new to me. Pansexual was the latest one.

No Pansexuality is a gender-neutral sexuality. It's kind of similar to bisexuality, only not as limited. Pansexuals are attracted to anyone, regardless of gender, whereas bisexuality is more strictly male/female. Although I do think some people just consider them one of the same, but there is a bit of a distinction.

My understanding of bisexuality is being attracted to both genders. How is Pansexual different?

For people who don't identify as either male or female, but some other gender identify like agender or androgynous etc.

Pansexuals are attracted to people regardless of gender whereas Bisexuals are attracted specifically to both genders as both separate genders. Okay, I admit I googled that. I just wanted to sound intelligent for once...

The world at large can be very confusing for us.

I'm too lazy to oppress anybody, but I'm sure my cat thought that it was an injustice that I didn't let him on the kitchen counter.
