Speaking of "Warm Exotic Locations" ... Filming in Navarre should potentially begin today or tomorrow I think according to what we know from casting calls there (via WotW): watchersonthewall.com/game-of-thrones-heads-for-navarre-and-new-casting-info/The extras casting indicates Dothraki horde based on the skin/hair color requirements and of course the Bardenas desert location is fitting for the Dothraki story line. These hundreds of extras were cast back in Jun or July: Navarre/Bardenas is a beautiful area that has been used for quite a few movies over the years: Also coming up is filming to begin in Peniscola Spain which we suspect is the location for Meereen this season. Casting info and dates from WotW: watchersonthewall.com/game-of-thrones-filming-locations-in-peniscola-announced/So these next two weeks should hopefully give us some more info on what's going on in the Essos side of Game of Thrones filming as we wait to see if anything comes out of the massive battle filming happening back in NI Saintfield as it will be continuous through mid Oct.

There is nothing new in these but I thought maybe I could post these to keep an eye on these users, perhaps they'll go back once filming starts. Yeah I think it's great some of you are able to keep track of these individual users especially on twitter too because stuff flies so fast there I can't keep up since I don't use Twitter regularly. I did go back and check that NI guy who lives right near the battlefield to catch his other photos (all the same we've seen anyways). These are great sources of filming shots so keep scouting - you're awesome!

I don't think they'll be filming today with the Emmy's. I doubt film crews and extras for Dothraki will be attending. Any actors scheduled for this area's shooting may not be onset for a bit yet if they're still setting up.

Emilia's amazingly beautiful doppleganger is going to be on the scene. This is good news. They're likely going to do panoramic shots of the horde traveling at the start which is when the largest portion of the extras and horses will be needed. Rosie will stand in for Emilia on horseback then is a good guess.

They must be going to CGI the hell out of this for snow effects. Seems to me they shot Hardhome last year in November? Tho they do seem to run into a ton of rain late in the fall so shooting a battle before the autumnal equinox seems reasonable. Seems due to logistical reasons they sort of go Winter-lite , I mean even last season Hardhome looked cold and snowy but bookwise even at the Wall its even more arctic. With all the money the show has now I wonder how they will do Winter? Seem almost like it's got to be interior set work , Iceland and or Scandinavia would limit filming time. Yes, there's less snow than we would probably expect as book readers who understand winter is descending fast upon the lands. The average viewers don't really think much of it, and I would imagine it's far easier on the filming crews to use artificial as much as possible and to go light on it. Filming in the snow is difficult even when controlled by machines. I've often wondered how they would portray the entirety of Westeros covered in snow once the time came for that considering all these warm/exotic locations they use for filming the castles and such. We also have to see how George presents it , as of the end of Dance he's implied the weather is to become part of the plot(well it already it). If I remember right even Braavos is stating to see Winter.

The photo from the Bardenas article I linked in the spec thread. This will likely be the Dothraki camp.

This woman is working on the show, according to her other pictures she was at the Emmy's. I'd be surprised if she posts anything else, but maybe we'll get lucky and she will haha. http://instagram.com/p/78AWphoqTg

It's a photo at least... yay! I'm glad to see the big crane on a truck they use for overhead action shots in movement because that means we'll get some good views of the khalasar on the move. I like how massive they can make these scenes look with thousands of people who look so realistic you can't tell they are just computer animated sims in the background.

Here's something new: Snagged this from this article: spanishnewstoday.com/pe%C3%B1%C3%ADscola-prepares-for-game-of-thrones-filming_26825-a.htmlI think this is the plaza they are referring to over at WotW in Peniscola where they are setting up for a big scene. WotW said: watchersonthewall.com/filming-with-emilia-clarke-beginning-in-navarre-and-more-prepping-in-peniscola/#more-46292Obviously this indicates this plaza and areas in Peniscola we've seen photos of before are going to be used for Meereen. I'd love to know if Peter, Nathalie or Jacob are spotted there for filming since they are our team Meereen at the moment. I hope this scene's hint of large numbers means there some sort of confrontation or troubles brewing in the city whilst Dany is away. I do not think we're going to get the massive siege we have in the end of ADWD - I suspect they may abbreviate that or eliminate it entirely but who knows, maybe they will show it happening and rather than Tyrion on the outside, we'll see it from his perspective on the inside this way. Also, Emilia is in Navarre filming now for the Dothraki/Khalasar side of our Dany story. Still waiting and hoping for some contraband extra snapshots from there!

I found this too, from Peniscola. The last picture definitely looks like something from Meereen. Like the beams from the place where Mossador was executed or Dany's box for the pit fight.
Edit: these are definitely from the same plaza Envie posted about above.

Another good find and that last picture does look very similar to what we saw in seasons past esp. where Mossador was executed! I believe the proper term for that type of beam covered patio is a Pergola. Fits nicely with the theme of the architecture there and in Meereen.
