My biggest hope for season 6 is Daenerys finally arriving in Westeros. I've greatly enjoyed her storyline so far, but I'm ready for her invasion.
I'm also pretty excited about being Unsullied again. For the first time since season 1 (I read all the books after watching S1) I will have no idea what's going to happen. Can't wait!

I'm pretty hyped for this season and I think it could be the best yet but I have one wish and one wish only: NO DEAD STARKS. I go the other way with this one and demand MORE DEAD STARKS!

Her arriving too soon wouldn't make sense in the current narrative since she has to get back to Mereen first. Not to mention a lot of Westeros storylines need tying off.

I'm thinking episode 8 or 9 of season 6. I will be dissapointed if we have to wait until 7. I'm not entirely sure that she does have to return to Meereen tbh.

Barbrey Dustin, Genna Lannister, Wyman Manderly and the Reader!!! In truth I know we wont see any of them and I understand why but if one of them pops up ill be so happy. I so wanted to see Dustin last year that I've convinced myself the sinister looking extra at Sansa and Ramsay's wedding in a hooded cloak is Dustin

IIRC they do sometimes give random background characters, or one line characters names, so it may still happen. Maybe. Or it may have been a subtle nod to the book fans. I honestly doubt the latter though.

I'm not entirely sure that she does have to return to Meereen tbh. She needs her army, her dragons and her slaves... I mean, friends. I'm kidding. I think she will return to Mereen before setting back off to Westeros, maybe at the insistence of Varys, or this new Red Priestess? I mean we already know the WW are coming, and based on the leaked script from way back, the new Priestess believes Dany is Azor Ahai, so it makes sense for her to spearhead the push for her to return to Westeros as its savior. Plus the Mereen stuff should be finished by the end of the series, Tyrion and Varys deal with the Harpies and Jorah saves Dany. Also, I mad e a post way back about Jorah's death been the motivator for her to return to Westeros. IMO it would make a lot of sense for it to work that way, and I know people think that Jorah is destined to get back to Westeros in a JonCon style, but honestly, if he gets back to Westeros what does he do? Head back to Bear Island? Bicker with Jon over LongClaw? I really can't see his storyline beyond redeeming himself by saving Dany from Daario, the traitorous Sellsword (I'm still hanging onto that one) and being Dany's motivation to head home. Besides, if Dany is heading back for the penultimate battle, it makes sense she goes back with a purpose and a reason to kick ass. I mean, we all know Ser Pounce is the true Azor Ahai, but I'm sure they'll reveal that at some other point.

The whole reason we had to suffer through so many books with Dany muddling through Essos was so everything in Westeros could get wrapped up to a point it would make politica/tactical sense for her to be in Westeros with a chance to actually make a difference in the story. It also needed to be believable that her dragons 'grew up' in that time to the size they would be able to help make that difference in a battle. So we must wait longer in Season 6 for her to finally reach Westeros.

Imagine how the people who were hooked back when aGoT was first published feel

I started reading the books in 1996. I was a new Mom back then. Yes I am that old. I have an adult son now who is second-generation Game of Thrones fan at 21 and has a Stark sigil tattoo. That made me feel old. Lordy.

That would be horrible, especially with GRRMs schedule, actually he wasn't as bad until ASOS I don't think. If anything, I'd expect you to be one of the biggest GRRM haters with all the time he's kept you waiting I admire your patience!

If anything, I'd expect you to be one of the biggest GRRM haters with all the time he's kept you waiting I admire your patience! You're right about it not being so bad until Storm of Swords came out in 2000. Up to that point I had been a casual reader, not really waiting for the next book release like we do these days. In fact I think I missed the initial book release of ASOS because I was overseas in Japan at the time and didn't realize it was out until I got back the next year in 2001. Also, it wasn't until that book that I began to feel like Dany's story was dragging out for a long time. I disliked all the political intrigue with the slavers and the harpies so I have been pleasantly relieved they eliminated quite a bit of that from the show actually. The most agonizing wait came between AFFC and ADWD. That really sucked. It was also a mistake to split the story up like that as many have criticized. It pissed me off. The wait was longer than we've waited for TWOW and it took some time to get back into the story again for me.
