Yeah that one is legit. I think that's the one that was floating around after she and Maisie were cast.

Sophie is more beautiful with red hair. Very true, but I'm sure she would be stunning with blonde hair too.

I've linked this gif a thousand times but while we're all discussing blonde Sophie vs. redhead Sophie...she's kindof blonde here.

She really does have good cheekbones That she does. But I'll definitely concede to your point a few months ago (IIRC) that Tara Fitzgerald has everyone beat in the cheekbones department.

I think it's interesting how she was one of my least favorites in the first season and now is my favorite female character. The credit definitely goes to Sophie for that, even if her storyline in Season 5 didn't have much development. So, Was everyone here always a fan of Sophie as Sansa and the character from the books or did it happen over time with her portrayal in the show and how she was written in the books?

I only started being impressed by her as a character as someone who was more or less unsullied (though spoiled about a lot of things thanks to trolls and then my own nosiness) later on during s2. I never hated her virulently like some people seem to but I didn't think too much of her in s1. Or when reading AGOT for that matter. ACOK, ASOS and AFFC helped of course in filling in some of those gaps but really it was s4 and s5 that have made me a major fan of Sansa in the show. Sophie keeps getting better and better as an actress too, which helps. And in spite of my misgivings about the idea, as I've said many, many times, I ended up really liking her s5 WF arc and expect great things of her in s6.
Also, although I'm sure this'll come as a surprise to all of you given my subtlety on the matter...but I'm sexually attracted to Sophie Turner. A shocker, I know.

I really like that outfit she has on there. Purdy. Edit: I don't know what it is but when she blinks there she kind of looks like Natalie Portman.

Season four put me on the "Greatly care about her" wagon. 408 was my favorite episode of that season and one of my favorite episodes period. A lot of that was because of the Vale scenes where Sansa featured heavily. I always expected to find Sansa's story in season four more interesting than previous seasons because I read the books, but I was fascinated by the Vale stuff in that episode. I thought that Sophie did a fine job previously with what she was given, but I thought she did some great stuff in season four. Her look during the Purple Wedding while the dwarves' joust and the Stark music plays in the background was a powerful moment for me. Her "confession" before the Vale council was just incredible. Great acting there. And I have been, and will always be, a supporter of Dark Sansa. Alas she didn't do as much as I would have liked in Winterfell, but her scenes with Theon were great. I am even more excited for Sansa's storyline in season six, and I think Sophie acting out a reunion with a Stark, whether it is Rickon or Jon, could be beautiful. Also, Sophie is super hot. Especially when they don't fuck up how much makeup they put on her. That is more directed towards her out of show stuff. On the book side of things, I despise Sansa. I think GRRM does a poor job of writing her. I remember a thread at Westeros where someone brought up an SSM where he said that Sansa acknowledged her part in Ned's downfall and felt regretful about it and even the Sansa stans were like "What?! Where did that happen?" I find that her fans jump through hoops to pretend that she is more impactful than she really is. She didn't plan her escape from King's Landing as some of her book fans like to claim, she simply packed her bags and waited for the signal. Far too often I hear that Arya couldn't have survived Sansa's ordeal in KL, but Harrenhal proves that otherwise. Book fans claim that Sansa survived KL because of her savvy way of staying under the radar, but in reality she survived because her last name is Stark and she was their only remaining hostage. She is a stuck-up, privileged, rich girl who reverts to her old self as soon as she has some safety. Her thinking she needs to be "bastard brave" is like a rich white girl thinking that she needs to be "strong in the hood" or whatever. A fish out of water basically. And don't get me started about how Sansa only thinks about Jon now that she has to be a bastard. Or how she never asks about Jeyne even though she knows that LF had something to do with her disappearance. But my biggest problem right now with bookSansa is that AFFC ended with a cliffhanger of "OMG will Sansa want to go through with LF's plan?!" TWOW SPOILERS AHOY!!! DON'T READ BEYOND HERE!!! It is revealed that she is okay with going along with his plan despite the fact that she doesn't think it will work. She thinks to herself that she can't marry anyone until Tyrion dies. Then why doesn't she mention that to Baelish? I am guessing that there will be a plot twist where Sansa is basically forced into the Harry marriage because of some loophole or something that LF reveals at the eleventh hour so Sansa can't escape it. The consummation will be unpleasant for Sansa and not too dissimilar to how the Ramsay/Sansa wedding night goes in the show. Harry will think she is into it because Sansa has been playing flirty for awhile.
My biggest problem here is that Sansa's thoughts on LF's plan to reclaim the North is a big cliffhanger in AFFC and it isn't answered in TWOW. We are inside her fucking head and we are not even given her thoughts on why she is going along with this. This is why I don't fault the showrunners too much when it comes to Sansa agreeing to marry Ramsay. Why does Sansa want to marry Ramsay/Harry? The show likes to give us a strong answer (revenge) that required more followup by Sansa to make it believable. The books like to give us a weak answer (go home) buried under shit that deserves more explanation but won't because we need a twist and because Sansa is either an empty-headed moron or because GRRM doesn't entirely know what he is doing with Sansa. And the Sansa stans will build their argument about how Sansa didn't haven any choice in the matter like they always do. And that isn't even touching the Sansan shit. I wish I could say that GRRM has shown that he won't go that route, but then we have Drogo/Dany.

So, Was everyone here always a fan of Sophie as Sansa and the character from the books or did it happen over time with her portrayal in the show and how she was written in the books? I hated her in AGOT. Quite spectacularly, actually. I remember talking to my boss when I was in the middle of AGOT about her (she had read the books) and how much I disliked her. Although I did a complete 180 on her in the space of a single chapter at the end of the book, because her sudden and vicious hatred of Joffrey was really great to read. And then from there, she slowly became my favourite character. Snow castle is still my favourite chapter. I've always felt like Sophie has done a fine job as Sansa, and she looks pretty much how I envisaged her when ready, but she has really come into her own since the start of season 4 and I think she's one of the most consistently good actors. Not as much as Alfie or Lena, but she's definitely up there IMO.
