Banging Eric, I guess. Lol. I wasn't a fan of the black and white either. Who do you think was blowing the horn at the end? Ron? Nope. I think the Wolves are at the safe zone waiting for them, honking the horn of one of those food trucks from last season.

I think we're going to continue to see them jump around in time. Action, quiet, action, something like that.

Is it just me or was the CGI bad?

I have to laugh because one review compared this episode to Hardhome, and it really just boiled down to walkers falling off a cliff. The CGI wasn't that bad. To me, the worst part was Nicotero thinking he could be Ingmar Bergman and getting a bit pretentious with his directing.

I had someone that knows I watch GoT ask me about that review when it first came out, and I explained everything that Hardhome was, and was like "They probably just have a lot of zombies." Yep. I was right.

I was underwhelmed. Same here ... really didn't like the ping pong back and forth thing between the planning / past and the present. The start was too jarring and confusing to figure out which was which in my opinion and at least for me, it set the first 15 min or so back a ways as I tried to sort it out and decide if I was on board or not. There was nothing to grab my attention right away until the point the 'plan' became more obvious. Also, wtf is with the somewhat over exaggerated "tension" between Rick, Morgan and Michonne? Is that really necessary? We get it, things are weird - no need to put such a fine point on it and make everyone constantly giving the side-eyes. When Carter got bit in the face and was screaming like a little bitch and Rick put him down ... that did not warrant doubt and tension ... that was necessary for survival. They're over dramatizing this a bit too much for as tight as we expect the group to be by this point. Ah well, maybe I'm being overly critical. I was a lot more forgiving with my reviews of Fear The Walking Dead, but when it comes to the main show I expect a lot higher caliber directing and story and this season opener was lacking. The massive hordes of zombies were about the only cool thing. Everyone's acting seemed too stilted too. Oh and new baby Judith looks nothing like the old one, wtf... is it hard to find another baby that's blonde or something? I don't even think their eye color was the same and that's just way too distracting.

She's old enough now that they need to make her look similar, and I think her eyes were brown. Which matters because of the whole Shane thing and lack of paternity tests. I guess they think Rick is beyond that now. Anyway, that was a small nitpick. I just didn't care about anyone except Glenn. I don't want Abraham and Sasha to have some kind of death-grudge sex, but that's looking imminent. Michonne seems to have gotten skinnier and is being used as scenery. I thought it was really dumb that Rick didn't understand that a teen boy wouldn't want advice from the guy who shot his dad in the face *boggle* .

I liked it, I liked it a lot! All the little moments between Michonne, Rick and Morgan were fantastic. Carol didn't get nearly enough screen time, but the few short scenes she was in were awesome (I love her). I'm not really into all the zombie gore, tbh, and it seems to be getting more and more excessive with every season, but there were some great character moments in this episode, and that's why I enjoyed it. And that cliffhanger was brutal. But where the hell was the cute gay couple?!

It's not like this was the first time people were put down because they got bit by zombies, it happens pretty much all the time on this show. Were they trying to emphasize that Rick is losing his humanity? Yeah, no shit. Carter was dead, Rick gave him a quick death, he did nothing wrong and Morgan and Michonne being all judgemental and worried about it seemed ... silly. I guess maybe they were trying to build up a conflict between Rick and Morgan, I don't know, but Rick and all the other members of his group have done far worse and more morally questionable things, putting Carter down was nothing.

I saw someone say that they blew their budget on all the walkers so they had to do half the episode in black and white lol.

I saw someone say that they blew their budget on all the walkers so they had to do half the episode in black and white lol. TWD fans on the internet tend to be even more stupid with half baked theories than the Game of Thrones fans and that's saying a lot. I was also reading where some hardcore zombie / TWD fans were dissing GoT saying how it stole the idea of "walkers" from TWD and doesn't deserve to win Emmy awards but TWD does. That one actually made me burst out laughing because obviously whoever it is hasn't actually watched Game of Thrones and has no idea what it's about or how old the books are either.
