I think it's looking like early s6 will feature Ramsay trying to hunt down Sansa and Theon and her being sheltered by some of these Northern characters from the casting, starting with smaller fish like this "Father" from the casting call and ending with the Big Kahuna; our new Umber. That'll then reunite her with Rickon and put her in the position to make a move against the Boltons. I sure hope you're right. This season, while still good - was a sad miserable sack of shit for most of the characters overall. If Season 6 doesn't start bringing some things up and out of this depressing torture drama mode, I fear many will just give up. There's already quite a few jumping ship this season especially after this past finale and for the unsullied, I don't blame them. Next season we're ALL unsullied and it's going to be scary! We need some Northern rallying/uniting and good vibes to bring the spirits back up before the real scary shit of winter hits!

When the Boltons die I'm sure there'll be some shortlived celebrating among the audience, Sullied and Unsullied alike. And then...well, s6 might just end even bleaker than s5 if the WW come flooding into the North.
Myself I've always liked miserable, bleak drama, so I don't particularly mind getting that terrible sunken feeling in my gut from watching a show or reading something. But I guess, if it's a tad much for some people, s6 is more likely to give them a bit of that catharsis. At least early on...

I mean, hope is what gives humans the courage to keep going on in the face of great adversity and despair ... so all this struggle, for all these years ... and all this death and heartbreak can't just be so the White Walkers descend upon Westeros and obliterate everyone, game over. What's the point then? We need heroes and we need something to cheer for and I know GRRM is by far the most hardcore brutal character killer of any author ever known but there has to be some silver lining to this whole thing, right? Right? Somebody hold me I'm having a Game of Thrones Existential Crisis here!

Not EVERYONE will die. But a good many will.

A big criticism a lot of us had was the lack of the Northern Lords, houses, clans, etc. so they can't just have the massive army of undead coming down to knock over the wall and then destroy Winterfell and the Boltons since that's basically all we got to see in season 5. That would be really lame. I am hopeful about the season 6 casting.

I guess the worry then would be about starving or something but I think WF will hold out pretty well even when there's a horde of ice demons and zombies surrounding it.

Yeah Winterfell will be interesting to see when the real battle of ice begins! You know where I would want to be when the undead apocalypse hits Westeros? The Eyrie! That castle is impossible to siege and even the undead would have a hard time climbing up those narrow winding paths and sheer dropoffs to get throug each of the gates on the way up! I had fun going from the bottom to the top of it in Westeroscraft (Minecraft world map modeled after Westeros) and it took a loooong time and really put in perspective just how perilous the way up there is.

But there's the problem of starving to death too - so you'd have to be sure and have enough supplies to last years if you were going to cut yourself off from the rest of the world up in the Eyrie!

Guys, I'm so hyped right now! The Umber is most likely Mors, he's huge, has a deep hatred for wildlings and wears a snow bear cloak. He picked fArya and Theon from the snow in TWOW. He will probably interact with them very soon.
That lord of the stronghold could still be Wyman. His treatment of Davos and the baking of Frey pies can be considered ruthless. Submissive maester supports that as well.
Give me Wyman Manderly and all is forgiven.

The problem with it being Mors is their age scale (25-50). Mors can't obviously be 25. I think that they'll see who they get and then they'll decide if it's Mors or even Smalljon. They could also be recasting Greatjon, but that would make little sense. Hother doesn't seem so hateful and aggressive (he did kill a whore though) as his brother. Mors seemed more like a warrior than Hother.

I think Wyman hopegully is in but he's not the stronghold one. IMO the Umber will be allied with the Starks and the stronghold one with Roose.

Like someone already said, Wyman might be quite a big role, so they might hand pick him. The stronghold one might be Karstark and he'll be on Roose's side. We also have a "Hunter"- role there, who will interact with main cast. I guess this character leads the hunt against Sansa & Theon and gets absolutely wrecked by Mors.

If Manderly is in I believe he will be a hand picked actor, especially if they are going after fan favorites like Ian McNeice and Brendan Gleeson, so he won't appear in any casting calls.

Well, it's completely possible that they cast a normal sized person to play him, they don't like to cast fat people. When is Comic con? I can't wait to hear some from there.

There isn't much precedent for that actually. I remember people (myself included) using that argument last year on AFOIAF as to why there'd been no casting call for Arianne and Wyman and it didn't pan out then either. Now I'm pretty convinced that if there isn't a casting call, there isn't a character either. (Except in cases like with Karsi where they gender-swap a character from the casting call or with Malko where they changed his name from Luther which it was in the casting call).
