So, any word on whether or not we'll get a season 2. I certainly hope so. Nothing yet.. It is likely it will, but no official confirmation

Was just reading the interwebs and Netflix is considering cancelling the show because of negative reviews. I'm so annoyed, i really liked the show and was looking forward to the development of the storyline.
I really hope Netflix reconsiders and gives the show another season at least.

I just hate reviewers. It's impressive how commonly reviewers' opinions differ from the fandom's.

The show has gotten great reviews from the watcher, most have rated it between a 4.2 to 5, which is very high. The watchers should be what they consider the most when renewing, especially for a service such as Netflix. And i had been so happy with Netflix, they had decided to bring telenovelas to their service.

Most reviewers based their reviews off of the first three episodes (if they even watched all 3), so I'm not surprised they are negative - since generally you need to get to the third episode to be anywhere invested in the characters and story. Straczynski is appearing at Comic-Con and doing a panel on Sense8 I believe, I think Season 2 will be announced there.

Every critic who did not like sense8 probably stopped watching before the orgy on ep 6. That made the show worth it already

When will Netflix stop torturing us for Christ's sake I read an article yesterday that the producers seemed hopeful that the show would be renewed. I really, really hope so. I just re-watched the season and I really want to know more about Whispers and why he does what he does.

I binged watched it last weekend. It was good, but so far it has been my least favourite Netflix show (still haven't watched Narcos), the best part by far are the characters and their relationships, but the pace is a bit slow even after the first few episodes, and the action sequences were "meh" most of the time, the tension didn't feel real. They should have spent more scenes stablishing "Whispers" and the BPO as villains, they have all the elements to be effective as antagonist, the dark and mysterious organization trying to find the sensates to kill them and the creepy doctor who can get into your head just by looking into your eyes. We should be terrified by them, but I wasn't because it was always clear the main character were going to be fine.
Maybe the problem is that the season focus a lot on Riley and Will and they are the two more bland characters for me, and I don't completely buy they whole "we fell in love after just talking a few times" (same for Wolfgang and Kala) even though they tell you that they share thoughts and feelings and have a connection. It just screams lazy writting for me, like, we need to have these characters fell in love, but we don't want to spend much time building the relationship, so we'll just say they have a "connection". Lito & Hernando and Nomi & Amanita worked way better (speclially Nomi and Amanita, best couple ever).
I hope next season gives more time to Sun, Lito, Capheus and Kala, because they deserve it (specially Sun).

It's just not Sense8 if there isn't an orgy scene that was hot I liked the special, but it doesn't really stand well alone IMO. It's quite clearly just episode 1 & 2 of Season 2 and they ought to have all been released together. Lito's story was the most moving and self-contained within the episode. I loved Sun too. Doona Mae is such a wonderful actress, and her face when she smile-cries is adorable and heartbreaking. Wolfgang and Kala were hilarious together (the bedroom scene ) and I found them interesting. Not too much happened with Capheus (I liked the new actor though). I suspect the drug/health clinic will be his plotline later this season. The stories forvNomi, Will, and Riley were really just set up for stuff that will likely happen later. See my first point again. This show is so good with music though. Just one example, the Christmas montage The opening (to Feeling Good) also stood out in that regard) Can't believe we were denied the opportunity to see Kala and Rajan's lavish Indian wedding! .

More examples of Sense8 using music beautifully:
(Strength of this show is really the relationship between the sensates, rather than plot)

The special is the first 2 episodes of Season 2? not marketed as such but basically it is yeah. Season 2 will be 10 episodes in May, so adding the two hour special really just makes it the same as season one.

Season 2 is up. First two episodes have been great. Seems like this season will move faster now that the characters are properly established. More sensates! So happy to see more clusters. And the woman with Wolfgang

All the dudes in this show are so fucking hawt, jesus christ. Yes. And it's not exactly shy about the characters being (mainly Wolfgang and Lito) being very sexual. It's a show I'm glad I don't watch with my parents Season 2 has been so good so far. Sun is the best, I've loved that story so much. "The only thing I hate more than rhetorical questions...stupid rhetorical questions." I'm fascinated with the production of this show though. A TV show shot on almost every continent is mind boggling. I'm assuming it's hugely expensive for Netflix.
