Fox have announced a panel for SDCC so it looks like Sophie may be there doing double duty if X-Men is a part of that (and I see no reason why it wouldn't be).

I would like to hear D&D answer a question about why they think other people like Stannis in the books. Why would someone ask them that? (If they were going there, that is, which they're not because they're still finishing up writing s6. Unless people are blaming them for making SDCC happen earlier this year...which I wouldn't be surprised at tbh ).
But seriously. What would someone expect them to say? The idea that they hate Stannis has always been a silly one. Maybe they don't hero-worship him like some (which might come from knowing how his story ends while we don't) but as I argued previously (IIRC in this very thread), they've always been good at coming up with show-only Stannis scenes and lines that Stannis fans have liked (in eps. 205, 208, 301, 308, 401, 402, 403 and 407 in particular). I'm sure the line "Go on, do your duty," in ep. 510 is show-only as well for instance because I have a strong suspicion that Stan will die without a POV present and won't be killed by anyone significant in TWOW...So why they should have to appease "Mannis=Chuck Norris" fans with some sort of forced, silly platitude or another, I haven't the slightest.
Oh, imho the rushed, awfully written and retarded scenes he was given in 5x09 and 5x10 prove to me above else that they hated the character. Moreover, it looks like they hated his fans just as much.

Is this Conleth Hill's first time on Comic-Con? This is his first time at SDCC for GoT. Not sure if he was there before for any other shows/movies but I doubt it. Tampa Bay gets some good GoT guests. 2 years ago they had Maisie and Rory Mc Cann, last year they had Richard and Pedro and this year Iain Glen.

Its for me, the way his plotline in the show has such an abrupt difinitive ending. His entire family and army are wiped out in the space of two episodes. It basically just looks as though they were in a rush to write him out of the show after episode 5. Minimal scenes, minimal impact and a done deal. Stannis over. I would really be more pleased if his death had some impact, meaning or purpose, but it doesnt. Theres no one to avenge him or take his place, no one in power who follows him or cares hes gone, and worst of all, the Boltons are entirely unharmed. Its like they just let the storyline die out. I mean, there were a lot of places they could go with it. He burned his daughter ffs. Theres a lot of conflicting shit. His death could have been more of a I give up thing rather than I am entirely incapable of stopping you because my leg is totally fucked. Seriously, the Brienne killing Stannis angle could still happen and be way more epic. But that was the equivilent of euthanasia. She killed a dead man. There was no conflict, no resolution. It was pretty sloppy. And thats why I disliked it. Yeah, I'm bitching because Im a Stannis fan and I'd complain about his death and nitpick regardless, but it was just so obviously half hearted that it just makes me wonder why Stannis exists in this show.

I completely agree with your reasoning, but Stannis was not a pointless character, in fact he was one of the characters who most affected the story. Killing Renly completely changed the outcome of the Wot5K, making things more difficult for Robb, making the Tyrells form an alliance with the Lannisters. Everything that happened in the North and in King's Landing is at some level a consequence of Stannis killing Renly. There's also the fact that he saved the Night's Watch and changed the entire conflict at the Wall. His acts had a huge impact in almost every Westerosi storyline. His death could be pointless, but not his life.

Now that you made me reflected on it, I'm a bit pissed off at Stannis for only making things worse for everyone unintentionally It would've been great if he had let Renly and Robb defeat the Lannisters and only then send the smoke baby to kill Renly. That would've been the perfect solution

Remember those quotes about Stannis long boney fingers... you know what they say about guys with big hands.

Yeah unfortunately this is all I meant. Has he really done full frontal in movies? I thought that if he did we would've seen it in the old nudity thread.
