GTA V has 6 world records for sales. I don't think Fallout 4 will top GTA V's 815 million in opening night and 1 billion in first 3 days.

I'd say it has a definite chance since it releases on 3 platforms at once, that will be a massive boost in sales IMO. At the end of the day, 7 years of waiting makes for a very anticipated sequel.

Breaking Beth's record (Skyrim) still isn't half of what GTAV did.

Fans made petitions to get Bethesda to release info, false websites to lure Bethesda into the open (which is true), nawed at every little tid bit of information. I don't know if you go on the Fallout NV Nexus, but not even an hour after the trailer dropped fans were putting up mods based on what was in the trailer alone. Skyrim hype was nothing compared to F4. If any game this year could even have a chance of topping GTA's record, its Fallout 4. That's not to say it will definitely do that, just that the chance is there.

We're talking more than a 100 million more console install base in 2011 with PS3's and 360's compared to right now. Yes, F4 is launching on PC too, but Todd Howard has said that over 75% of their sales are on consoles so PC will not make up that kind of difference. GTAV benefited from launching on hardware that had been out for 7 years compared to 2-3 years of the PS4/XB1. It is impossible for F4 to rake in a billion dollars at launch.

A good chunk of purchases will be on PC. Even with all those they may not beat GTA, which I never said they would, but they can still have the potential to make a lot of sales. Me? I don't buy any games straight away. GTA was not worth nor is Fallout 4 is likely to be worth £40. Especially with the bugs these kinds of games launch with. I'll wait either way.

This game is going to be great. I actually prefer the Fallout games to Elder Scrolls. I actually got bored with Skyrim.

This game is going to be great. I actually prefer the Fallout games to Elder Scrolls. I actually got bored with Skyrim. I think it depends on what your favorite genre is in the fantasy pop culture world. You being a big horror fan, I can understand why Fallout series would be more appealing to you. It's tough for me because I love both but I have to be in the right frame of mind to play Skyrim for a long time even though I have hundreds of logged hours playing it both modded and vanilla. I don't actually play Skyrim the way most people do though. I avoid the dragonborn story and play it like an open-world sandbox survival game (heavily modded with realistic needs and frostfall are best). If you've never tried it that way (and play it on PC), take a read on how to make Skyrim the ultimate survival game: www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/10/22/skyrim-survival-mods/It really does change the entire gameplay into something much more interesting and open world survival IMO. All that being said, I think overall I've probably sunk far more hours into Fallout 3 and New Vegas plus all their DLC. They are just absolutely awesome. I'm a huge post apocalypse fan and am constantly on the lookout for new movies, shows and games that deal with the fall of society and how humans survive and reorganize themselves into groups and factions after that. I love TWD because of the post apoc. society factor moreso than the horror aspect of the zombies. Same goes for Fallout games. I'm not that much of a horror FPS fan but give me a story or game where you need to make decisions and interact with people to survive (both good and bad people) and I'm hooked. Fallout's story has always been so intriguing to me and the setting is so unique (the whole retro 50s thing) it gives it an atmosphere no other post apocalyptic game can do. Oh and Fallout is amazingly fun modded too. My favorite is a mod that allows you to build your own fallout base complete with NPC survivors! It's glitchy as hell but fun. Those of you who only play these games on console are really missing half the fun. The mod community for Bethesda games is insane.

LOL it sold out within hours. I wasn't going to invest that much into the Pip Boy Edition anyways - I'm broke. But it's cool!
