Actually Stannis being defeated would be pretty sad. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! HE WILL TRIUMPH IN THE END. I SO want him to. Especially in the books.. EDIT: If Throne for the Game played during Shireen's burning i would have balled even more like a baby. I would really love that music to be played in a scene its really beautiful

yes throne for the game is definitely afteer for the watch which will be the last scene. this song pretty much confirms it. plus its male vocals dany usually has female choir Sounds like ADwD epilogue to me.

The ADWD epilogue is more about Varys' reveal rather than the deaths that occur. Because we aren't as attached to them as a main character.

How does the song 'confirm it'? It can be played after literally anything...what's odd is that FTW has no track? This song is so freaking sad i just don't know anything other than FTW that it could come after. The ADWD epilogue? Dany in the Dothraki sea? Brienne/Sansa escaping? Stannis failing in battle? Actually Stannis being defeated would be pretty sad. But i think its reasonable to assume FTW will end the season. D&D DID say the ending of the season would be a scene from the books. If you're thinking LSH then i'd expect the music to be a little more horrifying then extremely sad. The thing is I don't think TFTG accompanies any scene, just end credits. So it can be about the mood of the show overall not just the scene that precedes it

The rest of the episode was pretty dark.

Last year, it was a triumphant children's choir version as Arya sells away. The first season, it was very much picking up on Dany's triumph. This is very slow and solemn. While I won't bet that it's FTW, I will bet the scene preceding it will be the same in tone.

If the plan is to have the final shot of the season be Jon lying dead in the snow, then fans are going to need easy access to suicide hotlines. This has been a pretty gutwrenching season.

So, I've listened to the soundtrack several times by now.
I think it is probably the most varied soundtracks we've had so far. New music galore, as opposed to the past two seasons where it's been Rains of Castamere over and over again.
My favorite tracks are Hardhome 1 and 2...it's fast-paced music with build-up, highs and lows, and elicits different emotions as the tracks go on. Very masterful.
I would give this soundtrack an 8.5/10...but this rating may change as I get more time to listen to it.
