My real only problem with PD is the CGI. It's pretty bad. I'll have to do a rewatch, but I think I still favor Season 1 slightly. The Witch arc is very weak when compared to how Witches are handled in Season 2 of Salem.
And I think The Knick overall was better. Can't wait for Season 2.
PD is definitely in my top 5 current shows though.

I think the plot of season 2 is more focused than season one, which often felt as though it was meandering at times, and the vampires were lack lustre villains, to say the least. It had moments of greatness, particularly "Closer than Sisters" and the episode with Vanessa's possession, but it often just fell short of achieving its' potential. Whereas this season, I would be hard pressed to say which episode I would rate most highly, because they have all been very good. The acting is top notch all around too, which always helps.
Re CGI: was the scorpion from last week CGI? because that looked weird and not done very well. What stuff on the show is CGI btw?
Anyway, off to watch the latest episode now. Already mildly spoiled thanks to the PD Facebook countdown, damnit.

FINALE SPOILERS!!!! PEOPLE WHO DON'T SEE THE EP. TILL TOMORROW OUGHT NOT TO READ THIS....
I still prefer s2 to s1 but they really wrapped up the Nightcomer stuff too easily. And Evelyn Poole too. A great villain and she died pretty flippantly. I'll miss Helen McCrory (though if this gets her on GoT somehow, I'll forgive this 100 % ). They were all done away seemingly within seconds after all of that buildup. I laughed aloud at how easily the naked witches were disposed of in the hallway. (And also at how strangely extended Lyle's struggle with that one witch was in the hallway).
It's still way better than last year's finale which I felt was even more rushed but, I dunno, it was a kindof a letdown after the fantastic last few episodes. I wonder if maybe they expected to be cancelled and thus focused on giving the whole series rather than just the season its denouement? Anyways, I don't know what they'll be up to next year with the characters separated across the globe but I'll still watch it pretty happily.

I'll miss Helen McCrory (though if this gets her on GoT somehow, I'll forgive this 100 % ). I wonder who she could play. I guess the leading actress with a traveling theater troupe in the casting calls would have worked.

She would be perfect for Barbrey Dustin. Yeah I know that's what I always thought, but it doesn't look like Lady Dustin will ever appear unless they somehow work her character into the Northern Storyline next season, but I doubt it.

That would've been the role for her if they'd gone that route in s5. But @alcasinoroyale's right, that actress role from the first casting call would suit her.

Yeah, it was a bit of a let down. I think its something Logan needs to work on, how to make a strong conclusion, because last season was a bit of a let down too. I thought the stuff after the Witches Mansion was good though, even if it left a bitter taste for being so damned depressing

I'm just getting into the series, about 1/2 through Season 1, and I really like it. I do, however, have a bit of a hard time making connections between the little subplots - hopefully that will become easier as I continue through.

Season 2 does a better job of connecting the subplots IMO, most notably the sub-plot of Dorian, which is a very slow build up but looks set to be a great pay-off (already his side plot hit some stunning scenes I might add)

So Season 3 is adding Dr. Jekyll and a lot of other new characters - Dr. Seward, a psychiatrist played by Patti LuPone who is treating Vanessa. Seward's secretary (iirc described as mysterious). Justine, an acolyte of Lily and Dorian. A Native American closely connected to Ethan. And a zoologist who befriends Vanessa.
I'll hold off on judgment with Patti ?LuPone as a new character until I've seen it done. She's a great actress so I don't blame them reusing her. Just a shame they can't do the same for the lovely Helen McCrory *sigh*

I wasn't paying a lot of attention, short attention span and all that). So I'm going to wait and see what it's like before I make a judgment on that front. The he castings for those other characters was also announced. I can only remember that Shazad Latif is Jekyll and Wes Studi is in there somwhere, I think as the Native American.

And with Dean Charles Chapman in GoT too.

These teasers look promising... And dear god, Eva Green looks even more attractive than usual if that is possible.
