A tribute thread, to both the character and the actor. We have special memories of you, you enriched our GoT experience immensely, and we lost you. *sniff*
Who did you love (and why?) and lose (sniff), in Season 4?

Jaime's long hair and beard. Brutally ripped from this Earth and replaced with the inferior clean shaven, track suit Jaime. I can only hope that D&D choose to resurrect the hotness that was S2/S3 Jaime and bring him back. who am I kidding, they don't resurrect shit.

Tywin - a magnificent character and a commander. Charles Dance was a perfect choice for the role and he was arguably the best actor on the show. He captured Tywin's authority and personal traits perfectly. He also had the perfect voice for it, his voice commands respect. Rest in Peace my favorite Lannister.

Tywin, Charles Dance will forever be the best casting on the show.
Also Locke - such potential wasted.

Charles Dance: I HATED Tywin. That's a testament to how good he was in the role. I don't think there was a more perfect Tywin then Charles Dance. I don't think the show will ever have a villain as good as Tywin (or Joffrey and in my book, Roose and Ramsey just don't come close). I wanted to Tywin to die but he was so watchable and I looked forward to his scenes. He was an actor who made the other actors around him better. Jack Gleeson, so hatable as Joffrey but so much fun to watch as well. I think his best work was definitely the scene as Joffrey was dying where he did look like a scared child...almost opposite of all of his bluster in the end. Pedro Pascal as Oberyn, so charismatic and intelligent. I was not a fan of the Mountain and Viper as an episode as a whole, but Pedro in the last five minutes of the episode was stellar. I get chills thinking about Oberyn demanding the Mountain to admit what he did to Elia and her children. Locke (Noah Taylor)...he was good in the role and I think if he was around longer, he would have made a really good villain. It was nice to see the actor pop up in Peaky Blinders season 2.

I think that's because of the richness of it. Even with CGI and stuff, it feels "real". It feels like normal. Like normal life. You could go to KL, the Wall - even cities like Meereen (when I saw "High Sparrow" I wanted to be there), virtually everywhere. And it would feel just fine. Sometimes, I wish I was an extra. Especially in KL when there's much Lannister business going on. One of the Lannister guard, that would do it. I was an extra in a film for a publishing company. ;o) But the set up, the costumes and all this stuff - that's why one cares even for minor characters. Don't get me started on the books. ;oD

That's also maybe why I prefer ASoIaF in general to HP. I read HP and found it sometimes extremely unnerving that characters like Draco Malfoy didn't get that much attention (I do know about pottermore.). And the end felt kinda rushed.

I love both of those series. I never use my Pottermore account. I should log in sometime. I just hate how I couldn't pick my own screen name.

Tywin Lannister. What an amazing character. One of those you can admire, hate and love to hate at the same time. Incredible
Don't miss Joff AT ALL. Which is a great compliment to the actor. He nailed it so well, I'm glad episode 4x02 exists.
I must say I miss Lysa Arryn, wish we had a little bit more of her.
Oberyn Martell marked this season a lot as well. Very good character, the show nailed it by making him so loveable in just seven episodes.

Locke. I still mourn for him He really had some potential to be a great villain. Love Noah Taylor. It was a nice treat seeing him again on Peaky Blinders. Would have loved to see Locke give Jon a run for his money on the Wall.
