Anna: (throws up in bathtub) audience: way ahead of you, girl
And the movie has the two girls kiss because it hasn't destabilized my emotions enough yet.
WHO is this freaky naked girl and WHY was this movie made?

(blunt force head trauma) Jesus this movie couldn't get any more disturbing. (pained growling as naked girl spider crawls down the stairs)
My only chance of not having nightmares is to drink enough that my brain just shuts down for the night.

The rest of my commentary will apparently just be me going 'what the fuck' over and over again.
(Group of men dressed in black carry the corpses out of the house) This movie has thoroughly destroyed my will to live and there's still 40 minutes left.
"It's easy to create a victim. You lock them in a dark room, they suffer. You feed that suffering methodically and coldly. Your victim goes through a number of states." Why do I feel like this is really the director speaking to the audience?

Holy shit guys. Tonight's subset pick was written and directed by Sandor Stern. (airhorn)

so Davey, what's your verdict on Martyrs I need to watch it again, I was a bit too tipsy because of the film's reputation. After the second act there was a major narrative shift that made me realize I was watching it on a visceral level when I should have been looking for more symbolic elements. Overall I found it to be compelling, horrific, scary, and thought-provoking. I need to take another crack at it so I can really suss out the film's themes. It's a task that's both exciting and terrifying.

Pin (1988)
Is it me or do these kids look more stoned than Jeff Lebowski in the bath tub?
Fifteen years earlier? That's not how it's supposed to work in horror. You open with the flashback so we know why our protagonist is fucked up.

"Let's see, what shall I have you do for me to tonight?" Is the same thing I say to my microwave when I finally get home from work.
Two polite, white, adorable genius children? CBS is scrambling to hire them for their new prime time series.
WTF Pin is a skinless robot or some shit? I'm still trying to get over Martyrs, and this happens to be the next subset pic?

The first conversation the children have with Pin and he's immediately assigned to a Government list. "Hi, I'm your new neighbor Pin, and I told the children I had to be naked for learning purposes."
"Do you think I have nothing better to do with my time than clean up after you and your friends?" Leon: "Uh, look at how nice this house is, mom, we probably have a fucking maid."
This nurse just raped the science robot because of course she did. From here on out we have to rate Subset picks on how much whiskey I should have on hand before watching.

Kid blows out birthday candles in 1980s: how adorable, everybody dig in. Kid blows out birthday candles in 2017: you just increased cake bacteria by 1400 percent
Young Leon is fascinated by music box ballerina. Young Ursula is fascinated by dirty magazine breasts. This movie might have much more complex characterization than I was anticipating.
(Naked robot explains sex to young children) I suppose it beats abstinence training.

Love horror movies that delve into philosophy, but aren't Freudian themes just low hanging fruit? I'm going to take a cigar break before things get too weird.
"Do you think I should sleep with him?" "Oh you have to do it." The Miramax origin story, the scariest movie of the month.
